I Think The NSL Does It Better – An Editorial

By Terry Goodlad, Veteran Fitness Industry Photographer, and Writer

On a personal note, I covered contests for Oxygen, and many other Magazines, for over fifteen years, and when I saw my first NSL show earlier this year, I quickly understood why the NSL is as popular with fans and competitors as it is. The focus is completely on the fans and athletes and their experience at the shows. While there are exceptions, this is a rare approach to physique contests as a general rule.

When you go to an NSL contest you will see happy competitors, transparent judging that leaves no opportunity for the appearance of politics or favoritism, and you will see the amount of time athletes get on stage to enjoy all the hard work and sacrifice they have invested to make the shows a success.

In a word, the experience was refreshing, and I am confident you will feel the same way when you see or compete in your first NSL Show.

Don’t take it from me though, come to the Space City Open in Houston, December 9th and see for yourself. Maybe I will see you there, and if so, let me know what you think.
